History
Originated in ancient Greece and Egypt, In the Middle Ages, monks cultivated herb gardens and experimented with ingredients to improve their liqueur-making techniques. In the 13th century, Italian monks developed liqueurs as a way to infuse herbs for medicinal use.
Liqueurs are the flavorful beverage with an alcoholic drink composed of spirits and additional flavorings such as Sugar, fruits, herbs, and spices. Liqueurs generally contain a lower alcohol content (15–30% ABV) than spirits. Some countries have laws to produce their own Liqueurs.
It is often drink neat or mixed to make a cocktail , best served chilled.
