This occurred in a Los Angeles club. where the enterprising owner and the bartender came up with a drink that mixed apple schnapps with vodka. They called this cocktail the Adam's Apple Martini, later shortened to Apple Martini, and even later, to the Appletini.

Recipe 

Vodka                            - 40 ml

Apple Liqueurs              - 20 ml

Fresh lime Juice           - 30 ml

Sugar Syrup                 - 10 ml

Mix up in Cocktail Shaker, shake and fine stain in Martini Glass, and garnish with Lemon Zest or an apple.

Tip- Again All flavored Martini are made with Vodka and an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
