The Famous bat logo of Bacardi was originated in 1862 inspired by a colony of fruit bats that  (Doña Amalia wife of the founder of Bacardi) spotted in the rafters(roof) of the first Bacardi distillery in Santiago de Cuba She believed the bats were a sign of good luck and that they symbolized good health, family unity, and good fortune.
